St. Paul's Church Pooley Bridge was built in 1868. This small church posesses a fine little Bevington
organ of 1877 which is situated on the south side of the chancel steps.
Roof work at the church was responsible for the organ being inundated with water which poured over and through the
instrument for some days. The entire organ was removed to our factory in Liverpool for extensive remedial works
The bellows weights have been wet through and the
bellows-weights have become rusty
The organ is dismantled in our factory
Pasted to the bottom-board is a Bevington label
which is dated 1877
New fillings are cut and fitted between the wind bars
then the soundboard is prepared for deep flooding with hot glue
The table is trued by hand planing and then re-grooved
Rusted pins and axles in the backfalls and Rollerboards are replaced with new of Phosphor Bronze
The bellows and feeders (for hand blowing)
are stripped, cleaned and re-leathered
The pedals are re-finished and the casework is
also stripped and polished
Re-assembling the organ in our factory
